Everton’s unbeaten Premier League start comes to an end.

A bright start for the Blues as Lukaku curled the ball past Joe Hart for the opener, only for Negredo to level it up just a minute later.

City were fantastic. With no recognised defensive midfielder we struggled to compete with them in the centre of the pitch.

Aguero somehow missed two excellent chances before Lukaku was denied a clear penalty after being brought down in the box by Zabaleta. City took the lead with seconds remaining of the first half, with Aguero striking across Howard into the far corner.

Everton did little to threaten in the second half, and to make matters worse, City were awarded a bizarre penalty kick when Zabaleta threw himself on the floor. Tim Howard managed to tip Aguero’s shot onto the post, only for it to bounce back off him into the net.

Referee Jonathan Moss was universally criticised in the media following the game for his shocking display, which heavily favoured the home side. City however deserved their victory.

Man City 3-1 Everton.

Goals: Lukaku 16, Negrado 17, Aguero 45, Howard (o.g.) 69
