Bootle v Everton
Liverpool County FA Senior Cup: Semi-Final
KO 24.03.14 @ 19:45 (TONIGHT)
Delta Taxis Stadium. Vesty Road. Bootle

Tickets: £5 Adults, £2 Concessions

Get down to the Delta Taxis stadium tonight as Bootle host Everton in the semi-final of the Liverpool Senior Cup.

“It’s great to draw them again”, said manager Joe Doran. “The first time we played them we got our record attendance at the new ground (Delta Taxis Stadium) of 1078.

“That game was originally arranged for November, and was eventually played in February, and we had sold about 500 tickets in advance, so we knew we were in for a good crowd then and it was a really good event.

“It helped to put us on the map a bit with the local community. We don’t have big advertising budgets or anything like that, so a lot of the locals didn’t really know about us or know that we had a new ground at the time. We got a lot of exposure in the Liverpool Echo and on local radio, and that helped us a lot”.

Doran is confident that Bootle can hold on to the Senior Cup, having won it last year.

“Normally I would say that drawing Everton, or Liverpool or Tranmere, maybe Southport too, would be like a cup final for us. But we are holders of the Liverpool Senior Cup, so I’ve got to keep the lads focussed on winning the game, because there’s no reason why we can’t win it. It’s 11 v 11 at the end of the day.

“Obviously they will have a good side with a lot of quality, but if we can maximise all the opportunities we get, there is no reason why we can’t win,

“I went to watch them in the earlier round against Marine, and although they were saying it was their youth team, if that was right then their 18-year-olds are a lot bigger and stronger than you would expect.

“So I think they fielded a mixture of youth team players and under-21 players. As it happened, their under-21s were playing at Southport on Monday night so we went and watched them as I’d expect some of those players to feature.

“We have had 500 tickets printed so people can buy in advance and avoid queuing on the night, and if anyone wants to buy one, they should contact the club for details.”

As well as tickets being sold in advance, cash payment at the turnstiles will also be available, and admission prices are £5 for adults and £2 for concessions.

The game will be played to a finish tonight, and there will be no extra-time if the teams are tied after 90 minutes, it will go straight to penalties.
